The EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (which officially takes effect in August 2026) has had a profound impact on this year’s event, with nearly all material suppliers and equipment manufacturers showcasing compliance solutions. Key highlights include:

• Single-material high-barrier film with performance comparable to that of traditional multilayer films
• Highly energy-efficient sealing equipment that reduces carbon emissions per sealed product
• Incorporate a digital product passport into the packaging to enable sorted recycling after the product is end-of-life.

Automation and artificial intelligence integration technologies took center stage.
